Back To Work At Jellystone Park

by Cynthia on March 11, 2009

Sunday we went into Cypress to get some groceries and a few other things.  We went to Costco, Target, and HEB.  Everything is pretty much the same as when we left.  There is another new BBQ restaurant that we will probably try, but not this time.  When we got back, we did a little more to get set up and mostly relaxed the rest of the day, although we did talk with Bob and Alan and Joyce (the new managers).

Monday we met Bob in the snack bar at 9:00, and he gave us an idea of what he wanted us to do.  We reorganized the kitchen to fit the new deep fryer, we organized the shelves and took inventory.  We placed our food order.  Then we did a few other little jobs here and there.

Tuesday we spent most of the day weeding and cleaning up outside.  We stopped when SYSCO came to sign in and put away the food order, then we kept on weeding.  There was also a wall in the new office that we painted.  It was sort of a cream colored formica slat board and they wanted it painted red.  We got two coats on and it will still need at least two more coats…

Wednesday we started with a third coat of paint on our wall, then we worked on weeding some more.  All of a sudden, a cold wind started blowing and it started raining shortly after that.  We needed to work on new menus for the snack bar anyway, so we got that done while it was raining.  Then we went back and finished our weeding.  After lunch, we painted the wall one more time.  It is looking pretty good, but we will check tomorrow if it needs one more coat.  After painting, we looked around for something more to do, but both the managers and Bob and Diane left the park so we had no idea what work there was to do, so we just quit early.  We are taking tomorrow off, then we work every day for the next ten days since it will be spring break and the snack bar will be open every day.
