Weekend workamping fun
Posted by CynthiaWe were supposed to be off on Friday, but we were asked if we could work a few hours Friday night and we agreed. I was put to work in the office handing out the miniature golf clubs and balls, renting out the golf carts to campers, and helping ring up store purchases at the register. A lot of people were coming in to register for the weekend so I got to see how all of that stuff worked, but I didn’t do any of the actual checking in. While I was in the office, Kevin got to run the laser maze game they have here. They charge $3 for a try at the laser maze, and some kids can do it in a matter of seconds. The last three pictures are of the laser maze.
On Saturday, we both worked 10 am - 7 pm. We did the same jobs that we had done the previous evening. There were a ton of kids staying here this weekend–two girl scout troops, one boy scout troop, plus all of the families. The park was nearly full. We sold a ton of candy and ice cream, as well as some Yogi Bear souvenirs. Most of the golf carts had already been rented out the previous evening, but there was a steady stream of people checking out and returning the golf clubs and balls for the putt putt course. Kevin had quite a few customers at the laser maze as well.
Sunday we worked 8 am - 5 pm. I got a little more training on the reservations computers, but answering the phone is still tricky because I don’t have very many answers to questions that people have about the park and the accommodations. Kevin had the laser maze open in the morning and did trash pick up in the afternoon…
