Seattle to Wenatchee

Here are a few photos of our drive from Seattle to Wenatchee. These are all taken along highway 2. The fruit stand that we stopped at was one my Dad and I found several years ago and have returned to every year since. It is run on the honor system–they have bins of freshly picked apples and pears; you just fill a bag or a box and put what you owe into a cash box. It is the best value we found, and the fruit has always been excellent. Hopefully everyone is honest about what they take, and this grower can continue to offer his fruit this way…

Wenatchee Trip

Posted by Cynthia

We took the day off at the Seattle house to go and check up on the Wenatchee house. It has been on the market for two months now, and has not sold. The inside of the house looked great–we didn’t have to do anything inside, but we had a bunch of weeds growing in the landscaping, and the rosebushes in the front were way overgrown. We spent a couple of hours there (in the 90+ degree heat) pulling weeds and triming bushes. I will have to call someone to come and spray the lawn, since the back yard is full of weeds that could not be easily pulled.

After we got done there, we stopped at the Godfathers Pizza Restaurant that we used to own and bought some pizza sauce from the new owners. Grocery store pizza sauce just does not compare to the real stuff. I can make dough–or buy the premade crusts, but it just doesn’t taste good without great sauce!! (We also had some mail there they had been holding for us.)

For lunch, we stopped in Cashmere at the Country Boys BBQ restaurant. They serve really good, authentic BBQ–ribs, pulled pork, brisket…it’s all good. If you are ever in the Wenatchee, Washington area, you should definitely try it.

We then got on the road and headed back to Seattle. Traffic wasn’t too bad, even with the upcoming holiday weekend, so we got back to the Seattle house just before 7:00pm. Not a bad day trip, I just hope we sell the house soon, so we can move along and not have to keep making that trip!!

4 days in an RV park south of Portland

We stayed at Roamers Rest RV Park which is just south of Portland. A 313 mile drive. Everything was great, the sites were kind close together, but its a nice little park. We changed sites to get satellite reception, but didn’t watch much TV anyway.
