It Never Fails

by Cynthia on December 18, 2009

It is either too hot to do anything on our days off, or it rains and we can’t do anything.  Yesterday, it was a combination of both.  It was around 82 degrees, and it rained most of the day.  We did at least get out to do some shopping.  We went to Sam’s Club.  I was planning on getting the groceries put away and dropping Kevin off, then going back out to finish shopping, but I never made it.  It has been raining hard all morning, so I really don’t want to go out today either, but I have to if I want to get my shopping done in time…

Tiki Pavillion Getting Rethatched Close Up of Tiki Pavillion

A couple of days ago, they started working on replacing the thatch on the Tiki Pavilion.  Kevin was working outside so he was able to get some pictures.  Yesterday, they started with the new roof, but then it started raining, so they didn’t get very far.

We Are on Top of an Ancient Coral Reef

He also took this picture of a hole someone was digging.  We only have about four inches of topsoil here, then it is solid coral below that.  It is a little hard to see, but the grayish white is coral rock, and it comes almost to the top of the hole.
