When we moved to Seattle, we went through all of our stuff. We sold some, stored some at our parents’ houses, and squeezed the rest into the motorhome. We decided to leave the furniture in the house so it didn’t look so vacant while we were trying to sell it. Now that it is getting towards winter, we needed to take care of the furniture, even though the house has not sold. We did not want to have to drive a U-Haul truck in the snow. So we got a truck on Friday and packed in all of our furniture and drove down to Portland, where my parents live. We were able to put the living room and bedroom furniture at my Mom’s, and the dining room furniture went to a consignment shop to get sold. It was a ton of work (thanks Dad, Adam, Sharon, Kevin, and Joe for your help), but we really couldn’t put it off any longer, and we are happy that it is finally moved and we won’t have to deal with it again. When the house does finally sell, we won’t have to do anything but sign papers and hand over the keys!!
