Luckily installing tow brackets on a 2001 Honda CRV is pretty easy. No need to remove any front end body parts. All the bolt points are pretty accessible.
The diagram that comes with the brackets is not real helpful, it shows how all the bracket parts are suppose to go together but there are no drawings or pictures of the bolt points on the CRV. It would make the process easier if the instructions had some basic drawing of the underside of the CRV and generally what the bolt on points looked like. The instructions only had text references of where and how to bolt the brackets on.
With that said each point was still fairly easy to figure out. There are only 3 parts that bolt onto the CRV. The cross-member in the front and the two long members that bolt onto the cross member and the CRV frame. I had a little bit of a problem trying to line up all the bolt holes, but the instructions said to leave everything loose until it all fit and then tighten everything up. I went back and basically made sure all the nuts and bolts were just barely started, then I could shift things a little more and it all came together. I then torqued all the bolts to the recommended amount and all was done.
From start to finish it took about 1 1/2 hours.
