Today we got up and sat outside for a little while, then we headed towards Houston to go shopping. We stopped at a Target and picked up some cat food and a brush for the cat, a nice set of 450 thread count sheets (which we needed), and some other stuff, then went to Costco, which was farther away than Sam’s Club, but we wanted to check it out. We bought some stew meat, some pork ribs, some hot dogs and buns, some shorty socks for me to wear with my work shoes, some water and Gatorade, and a few other things. Then it was off to Kroger for the rest of our groceries. This was our first time in a Kroger store, but it is your typical chain grocery. The grocery store that is close to the park (still about ten minutes away) is old and they had the worst produce I have ever seen. We decided we would try very hard to never shop there again. So we made a list of what we wanted to have for dinner for the next week and what we needed to get. We got everything on our list except pickles (because they did not have the kind I wanted) and the doormat (we didn’t see one at Target that we liked). Of course we got some things that were not on the list, but at least now we can cook some meals for the next week or so. When we got home, we put the groceries away and I started some laundry. We have a washer/dryer in the coach, but the loads it can do are tiny and very slow, so since we get $10 worth of free laundry, I do it in the laundry room. It is way faster and doesn’t heat up the coach. We are having the hot dogs we got at Costco for dinner, so I don’t really have to cook anything tonight, just heat up. Nice and easy…

I like the feeling I get right after grocery shopping, where I know there’s enough food in the RV to last for a week. It just feels so snug and self-sufficient, you know what I mean?
