Yesterday was a busy day in the office. We have a lot of people who come down for four months starting December 1, so we had lots to do to get everyone checked in and organized. Some won’t actually make it in for a few days, but we are ready for them now.

A couple of nights ago, I was out walking the cat, and saw this rainbow-like circle around the moon. It was difficult to get a picture of what it actually looked like, but this is the best I could get. It was very humid and the moon was full and very bright–I don’t know if this has a name, but I had never seen anything like it before.

And then a picture of a cane toad. When we first got here, there were tons of these guys out in the evenings. There are fewer now, but they are still around. They have glands on their backs that produce a toxin that can kill a small animal, so I was very worried at first that the cat was going to bite one and die, but they are pretty shy and tend to hop away if we get close.
Today was quieter in the office, but we are rapidly filling up and running out of spaces to put people, even short term, for January and February…
