Entering Arkansas Missouri State Line Illinois State Fairgrounds Illinois State Fairgrounds

Today we drove about 396 miles, nearly all on I-55.  Started out in Tennessee, drove a little in Arkansas, through Missouri, and into Illinois.  We are at the Illinois state fairground complex, and this place is absolutely HUGE.  Just the camping area alone has over 300 sites.  We are technically in the handicapped area, but that is where they have put just about everyone – those are the only sites with full hook ups.

We were hungry for pizza, so we searched for a Chicago-style pizza place.  The website of the one we found looked okay, so we figured we would check it out.  It was only a few miles from the campground, but when we got there we saw this:

Fratello's Pizza

Just a little storefront in a business mall.  Kevin went in to get a menu, and the place looked busy and smelled really good so we went ahead and ordered.  We got their regular size Chicago style pizza 1/2 meat and 1/2 veggie.  They said it would be about 45 minutes, so we went for a drive around town.  When we got back, they said they messed up on our order, so they made us an extra pizza to fix it.  No problem, but now we have all this pizza.

We each only ate two slices, so there is a lot left over.  It was good, although quite heavy on the cheese for our tastes.  We both liked the sauce on top idea because you can really taste the sauce.

It is raining and the cat wants to go outside…
