We are getting ready to head towards Missouri. As of now, we will spend a couple of days in Dallas, a day or two in Miami, Oklahoma, and a couple of days in St. Louis, Missouri before we get to our new campground. We are expected to start work there on May 1st, although the water park where we will be working doesn’t open until the end of May.
We will have some work to do getting the snack bar organized and ready to open, but I am guessing that we will have other fun jobs to do as well. I am sure there will be clean up to do–the park is closed all winter, but they have been doing some construction and repairs over the winter…
When we talked with our new bosses, they said some of the food was already pre-ordered, but we will have to complete the menu for the season, meet and train our employees, make out work schedules, and learn how to work all of the equipment in the kitchen we will be in. It sounds like it will be a harder job than we had last summer, but we will have a larger crew–they said there will be 6-7 snack bar employees–instead of mostly just us.
At least our schedule will be pretty much perfect . The water park is only open from 11-7, and a few Saturday nights it will be open for adults only from 8pm-12am. That means no early mornings, and only a few late nights!! And I will be writing the schedule, so we will get first pick of the shifts we want to work.
It is dragonfly season here in the park, so they are just everywhere. They even let me get really close up for some reason–I tried to get some pictures of them last time we were here, but they wouldn’t stay still…
