We wanted to see a little bit of what was around us, so we took a short drive to Black River Falls.  We passed by a sign that said scenic overlook, so we stopped there first.  Apparently it was a spot where a lot of mining had occurred, and at one time the mining buildings and equipment could be seen from the viewpoint, but 35 years after the sign was put up, all we could see was trees…

Black River Falls isn’t much bigger than Tomah, but there is a casino there.  We went into the casino first, but they didn’t have any great deals going on, so we didn’t stay long.  We then drove through town and went to the city park.  Not really much to see, but at least we were away from the campground for a while.
